Mastering the Art of Halloween Content

Halloween is right around the corner, and it’s not just the spooky season—it's a golden opportunity for businesses and content creators to take their game to the next level.

Did you know that Halloween is one of the biggest app-usage days of the year on Instagram and TikTok? Take advantage of more eyeballs than usual by utilizing trending sounds and transitions to show off your costume or product on Reels and TikTok!

With costumes being the season's highlight, this is the time to go viral, and here’s how you’re going to do it:

Content planning:  plan out your audios, transitions, and videos you’re going to create ahead of time! Then, create a shot list so you don’t forget which clips you need to film in which order.

Halloween Content Ideas:  take the trending ’Get Ready With Me’ videos to a whole new level by making it Halloween edition like this, or consider experimenting with a vlog-style video that shows the process of finding, making, or getting ready in your costume

Show the full makeup look, and the story-time behind it, talk about where you bought your pieces and maybe even bring your followers along shopping. This approach builds suspense, keeping your audience engaged until the big reveal.

If you’re dressing up as a specific character this Halloween, take it up a notch with audio that matches the character's vibe. You can even play with popular movie quotes or choose audio related to your costume, take inspiration from this iconic Carmen San Diego costume. From the Barbie movie to American Psycho or Pulp Fiction, the character list is endless.

But remember that transitions are your secret weapon (more about this below)! Halloween audios are evergreen because every year in October people are searching for costume ideas online.

So this is the time to own transitions and make them live on the internet! Audios like ‘Please don’t kill me Mr. Ghost Face, I want to be in the sequel’, or ‘Nobody move, theres blood on the floor

P.S. if you’re running a brand account, this is the time to have fun and think outside the box! There are plenty of ways to incorporate Halloween into content about your product, like Our Place did a couple years ago: a cooking video with a pumpkin head was simple yet effective.
